Team profile

Italy

Italy are historically
one of the top teams in the world in women's volleyball, having won numerous
titles and trophies across the board in FIVB and continental competitions. This
includes gold medals at senior World Championships (2002), World Cups (2007
& 2011), European Championships (2007 & 2009) and lots more.
  
At age-group level Italy are proud holders of the 2011 title in the U20 World
Championships and have won one silver (1997) and one bronze (2015). In the
European Championships Italy won seven gold medals,
the last in Tirana (2018), beating
Russia in final match 3-2.    

At the U18 competition Italy won two world championship title (2015, 2017), one
silver medal (2003) and three bronze (1995, 1997, 2005).  

The “Azzurrine” have also won two European Championship (1995, 2001).
